Join us for MobileTech for Social Change Camp in Nairobi!

My No.1 tech-girl, Jessie, has invited you and me to a day-long camp on mobile technology for social change at Strathmore University in Nairobi. We will explore mobile tech to advance social development and social change goals. As always it will be participatory and interactive.

$15 USD (pay here) or 1,000 KSh at the door and 500 KSh for Students with ID. The cost will be used to defray costs for food throughout the day.

I really like being here. The thing about social media is that it has insane promise in infrastructure poor but communal rich continent of Africa. The question then becomes what we have to do to get the everyday people, a third of whom have mobile phones (like in Kenya)to understand, appreciate and get involved with the social platform that sits infront of them. This is a start, but we need to give the 12 Christian disciple a run for their money..and spread the word BIG TIME!
